Diane Lu (Cheng Z. Lu) is an artist. She started drawing and painting at young age. To pursue her art dream, she came to California, and graduated from California State University, Long Beach. She continues drawing and painting from human fingers to plein air for many years. Some of her paintings won awards in juried exhibitions and were sold on site in California. In recent years, she devotes full time in painting to express emotions and thoughts through related surroundings with imagination. 

Prior to become fulltime painter, she worked at Walt Disney feature animation films, theme park research and development with 3D and 2D projects. She started as an assistant layout artist, and was promoted to the Lead Artist and Art Director positions in her Disney years. The career in animation has strong influence on her creative thinking through artworks.
